What is UB HOST (Help our Students Travel)?

The UB HOST program, sponsored by the Medical Alumni Association, offers fourth-year medical students an opportunity to connect and/or network with medical alumni while interviewing for their residency program. This new program is designed to help our students and graduates save money while traveling and provide them with new contacts all over the US.

UB HOST Services…..

I am student, what services could a UB HOST offer me?

Housing or overnight accommodations

One-to-One advice about residency, the prospective medical center, community, specialty and the community in which they are interviewing.

Special meals, tours of city and/or medical center

Transportation to and from airport and/or interviews

I am a UB medical alumnus, what will I need to do as a UB HOST?

As a UB HOST, you may choose to support a student in a variety of ways which may include advisement via email or phone, housing, transportation to or from the airport or to and from an interview, or a tour of the city. You may choose to just become a contact for our students and give advice based on personal experience about residency training, the medical center in your city and or community in which they are interviewing. A UB HOST is one way to give back and connect with UB School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
